Rod Turner, Senior Principal
Mr. Turner has over thirty-five years of healthcare finance experience, initially as a management consultant and subsequently as an investment banker and financial advisor. He has established two healthcare finance practices, one focusing on market and financial feasibility studies, with the other focusing on public finance and financial advisory services.
His experience includes starting a new healthcare specialty unit within a commercial bank responsible for tax-exempt and taxable bond issues, as well as financial advisory services relating to healthcare facilities. In his role as an investment banker, Mr. Turner has extensive experience in working with state and local financing authorities, rating agencies and lending institutions.
Mr. Turner also managed a healthcare consulting practice that had in excess of one million dollars in client billings annually. The healthcare practice specialized in long-term care and specialty healthcare facilities, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, rehabilitation and psychiatric hospitals. Responsibilities included review compliance, practice development, practice management, supervision of personnel, and new product development. Mr. Turner has prepared or managed the preparation of financial feasibility studies for the successful financing of over 100 healthcare facilities.
Mr. Turner is a founding member of HTG Consultants and assumes overall operating responsibility as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Turner was Director of Health Care Finance in the public finance department of a major Mid-Atlantic regional bank. Before joining the commercial banking industry, Mr. Turner was a partner in the healthcare consulting practice at a national accounting firm.
Mr. Turner is a graduate of Wharton Graduate School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a Master of Business Administration. He is also a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science degree. Mr. Turner achieved the designation of Certified Public Accountant in 1983.

Mr. Turner was appointed by former New Jersey Governor Tom Kean to serve on the New Jersey Statewide Health Coordinating Council from 1988 to 1991. He served on the Council’s Review Committee and Long-Term Care Task Force.
As part of his responsibility as an investment banker, Mr. Turner has made presentations to the major rating agencies, including Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch IBCA, for healthcare bond issues. Mr. Turner has presented to various non-profit, affinity and municipal groups regarding financing of healthcare facilities.
Mr. Turner is an active member of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA).
